Top 9 Games by Decade, Genre and Platform

I use these lists as prompts for a personal card. Every category has its own URL, so I can jump from a decade to a genre or platform without losing the thread.

A good 9-game list needs a starting point, but it does not need to follow a universal ranking. The decade pages help me remember when a game mattered. The genre pages help me compare different kinds of play. The platform pages help me find the games connected to a console, computer, or handheld. I can open one list, choose a few ideas, and then replace them with the games that actually shaped me.

These pages are built from the published Games records used by the GameGrid search and card maker. The links below are navigation hubs, not duplicate copies of the same article. Each destination has its own title, URL, filter, and ranking context. When there are not enough published records for a category, the page stays available for discovery but is not treated as a finished ranking page.

By decade

Compare the design eras that shaped different generations of players, from early home-console experiments to current cross-platform releases.

By genre

Use genre pages when I know the kind of experience I want, such as an independent idea, a system-heavy simulation, or a story-led visual novel.

By platform

Platform pages connect the list to the machines and communities where players discovered the games, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo systems.
